Christian Bale Finds a New (and younger) Victim.

The audio clip of Christian Bale (i.e. Batman, American Psycho) absolutely losing his mind on the set of Terminator 4 is well worth checking out.  It has become one of the most popular YouTube clips this week, probably due to the fact that it gives us regular folk some ammunition to take aim at the holier than thou, entitled, and snobby stereotypes that many of us hold of Hollywood’s finest.  But, as has been the trend lately, his tirade has been mashed up.  I just saw this and needed to post it.  For the Bale freakout, click here.  For the mashup, scroll down.  Enjoy!

Obama and Simba?

While it is true that Obama has been compared to many people, this specific pairing is unlike the more common ones, from JFK to MLK.  In this hilarious clip, Obama and Simba from Disney’s The Lion King are fused together.  OK, let’s see.  Both were underdogs who rose to prominence despite the odds stacked against them.  Both have significant others.  Both have children.  Ummm.  Both have noses?

Anyway, there clearly aren’t many similarities but the video remains a worthy pick.  Now I’m sure that many of you have seen this already because it is a little dated but I wanted to share it nonetheless.

Slumdog Millionaire

Wow.

That was the first word that came to mind upon seeing this film. It was emotional, powerful, beautiful, violent, disturbing, funny, dramatic, gut-wrenching, and tear-inducing all at the same time. I could have used less adjectives but a complex film such as “Slumdog” (possessive of so many layers and diverse attributes) deserves to be lauded as such.

Here’s the trailer (which, by the way, does not do the film justice):

Honestly, the best way I can describe this film in short would be to call it the “City of God” of India. There are many parallels that can be drawn between the two films. Both are violent, sexy, funny, and most important of all, authentic. Both involve troubled and extremely poor youth trying to find their way in a scary world. And both are fantastic.

Long story short, see “Slumdog Millionaire”. You will not regret it.
